Hi we are Amy and Debbie from Mummy Mojo. Thanks for visiting! Read on to learn how we can help you find your mojo again after having kids.
Becoming a mum and losing your mojo is a package deal. It’s not surprising when you think about how much your life changes. Caring for kids is an enormous responsibility. There is always so much to do and never enough time to do it all, or at least do it all well.
It is the chronic lack of self-care, plus the self-sacrifices you have made in your lifestyle, career, and dreams, that when you finally get a chance to take a breath and look around, everything has changed, including you. You don’t know who you are any more beyond being a mum.
You have lost your mojo.
You love your kids more than anything, but you are missing something.
Your old life?
Your old career?
Your old self?
Everything is uncertain, and whilst having kids is the best thing that ever happened to you, you just know you are not fulfilled deep down.
You know that you were destined for more in life than this, but feel too depleted and stuck to elevate your life. Maybe you have gone back to work, maybe you haven’t. It doesn’t really matter. Either way you feel guilty, like you’re somehow failing at this thing called motherhood.
If motherhood has stolen your mojo, don’t despair! The good news is that it is not gone for ever. You just need to know where to look for it and how to hang on to it once you find it – and that is where we come in!
You see, we have been exactly where you are. Two women with happy lives and successful careers, who wanted nothing more than to have kids. But when we did, when we thought we had everything we ever wanted, what we also got was overwhelm, burnout and poor health. We were not sure who we were any more beyond being a mum, we lacked confidence in ourselves and felt unfulfilled.
We had lost our mojo in a big way, and so we embarked on a mission to get it back. We started prioritising our needs, practicing self-care, feeding our minds and nourishing our souls. We began to simplify our lives and learned how to manage the stress and overwhelm. It was a journey of self-discovery, great personal development and joy that helped us get our mojo back and made us better mums in the process.
Not only did we get our mojo back, we also discovered our life purpose and passion, because getting our mojo back gave us the energy, confidence, drive and courage to pursue our dreams.
That is the magic of mojo.
When your mojo is in full flow, this is you at your very best, leading your most vibrant, lit-up life. That’s why its important that you get yours back and get it working for you right now.
We totally transformed our lives, and now we help other mums transform theirs by sharing our knowledge, skills and experience through our courses, workshops, eBooks and coaching programs.
If you have lost your mojo and want more from life, we hope our story inspires you to transform yours.
We are Amy and Debbie, two friends who met through a mothers’ group in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Prior to having children both of us enjoyed successful and rewarding careers in health and wellness marketing and communications.
After having children, Amy returned to work and Debbie became a stay at home mum.
Despite the different paths we chose to take, both of us admitted we were suffering. We had health problems, weight issues (too much or too little!), we were constantly tired, overwhelmed, stressed and unfulfilled.
We didn’t know who we were beyond being mum anymore, and the revelation came over coffee one day that we had both lost our mojo.
When it became obvious that things weren’t going to get better on their own we decided to take action. Here’s a little bit about our personal journeys:
For as long as I can remember I have been interested in health and spirituality.
My parents had a lot to do with this. My Dad meditated, ate healthily and was always swimming in the ocean. My Mum loved her juicing and would try a different therapy every month – she even took Dad along to a re-birthing class. He only went once! My doctor was holistic using Chinese therapies instead of conventional medicine and I started seeing a Naturopath when I was 13 years old.
I am passionate about most things in my life and this includes, high up on the list; socialising with my friends. Unfortunately with this came drinking, which then turned into “binge drinking’, and the majority of my 20’s were spent partying the nights away in London, UK. During this time, despite my obvious vices, I was still exploring health and spirituality. I was vegetarian, I took vitamins, and I had a serious yoga practice with an actual yogi.
At 25 I traveled to India to meet with the Dalai Lama and I ended up wearing a bindi on my forehead for 3 months!
During this time I worked in communications for a number of fast-paced, corporate companies before deciding to turn my lifelong passion for health into a career. I spent 10 years working for Australia’s leading natural healthcare company. Finally, I was living and breathing my passion. I really should have been at my healthiest.
Yet what I found was that I was great at giving health advice to others, just not at nurturing myself!
I worked hard, I played hard, I ran around a million miles an hour. I was highly stressed and fatigued – my body was screaming at me to STOP!
With two children under five, I was working full-time, managing the house hold, studying, involved in community groups, and hosting lots of events, dinners, kid’s birthday parties.
As far as over-committing myself goes, I was having my cake, eating it, and then baking another and eating that one too!
Can we really have it all? I honestly thought I was Superwoman and that my body was that too.
But I was very wrong… It was only a matter of time before my exhausted adrenals packed up, my stomach went haywire, and my poor busted immune system shut down.
Following a multitude of tests, specialist appointments, and thousands of dollars spent on trying to find answers, I was hopitalised with severe dehydration. I had parasites / IBS, muscle pain, fatigue, tinnitus, and nasty skin rashes, to name only a few of my symptoms. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
For anyone else with a chronic illness that has experienced the immense frustration of not knowing – you will understand the relief of having a name for your illness. But that was just the beginning…
My life was filled with endless days of fatigue and pain. I gave up gluten and sugar. I explored countless healing therapies. I took treatments for my adrenals, thyroid, to detox metals and mold, you name it!
I took so many vitamins and herbs that my urine was always bright orange!
I didn’t get much better. I saw doctor, after doctor, after doctor. Having tests, after tests, after tests, and I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
I was bitten by a tonne of ticks in 2011 and it was shortly after this that I started to get sick. The first test for Lyme was negative and then all these years later it had come full circle — it is easier to detect the disease when the infection is chronic. Just great!
I was exhausted and frustrated with the whole experience! My intuition that it was Lyme Disease (despite the doctors saying it didn’t exist in Australia!) had been right all along.
I decided to take things into my own hands. To use my knowledge and experience to help myself heal.
Along this journey of growth, healing, and discovery, I got deeply in touch with my soul.
I applied daily self-care and self-love.
I learned to live ‘deep’, not ‘fast’.
I listened to my inner voice. Truly listened.
I learned that positive health starts from within.
I had “finally” seen the light. Every ‘body’ has the chance to heal, you just need to believe you can, and then provide it with the right, healthy environment.
My passion for helping myself became a deep passion for helping other women.
These days, I carefully weave my family life, friendships, and personal aspirations into a career that I adore: helping others to make a similar transformation in their lives.
I am a holistic health & lifestyle coach, EFT Practitioner, wellness blogger, and a lifelong student (mindfulness, nutrition, meditation, etc).
I am now living a life of health, purpose, and meaning, and I’ve never been happier.
By sharing my experiences around the holistic approach I have taken in my path to wellness, I hope to educate, inspire and motivate you to better health.
I would love to invite you to a free health assessment, take a look at my health coaching page.

With health, healing and happiness,
When I made the decision to give up my career in PR to be a stay-at-home mum to my son, and then three years later to twin boys, I threw everything into being the best mum I could be. I am lucky and privileged to have been able to do so, and wouldn’t change it for anything. But somewhere along the way I lost all my confidence and sparkle. I put on weight, I was constantly tired, and I’d lost a part of myself too.
Turning 40 was a significant milestone for me. I don’t like to think of it as a mid-life crisis (although I am toying with the idea of getting a tattoo!), it was more of a Mojo Crisis! I wanted the old me back, the fun, outgoing, confident, happy, social creature that I used to be – albeit more mature and sensible(-ish) and parent-like. I wanted to have the energy to keep up with my three very active boys. I wanted to feel good in a bikini on the beach. I wanted to ROCK MY FORTIES!
For someone who has lived on the “C” diet for the last 20 years (think Cheese, Chocolate, Champagne, Coke, Cake, Carbonara, Cigarettes…I could go on but you get the idea!) the journey back to health was a challenge to say the least. Old habits die hard, and there’s just so much information and conflicting advice out there about what to do and what not to. But after lots of research, and some trial and error, I started figuring out what worked best for me and my lifestyle. Small but consistent changes in diet, exercise, and personal development led to the forming of new, healthier habits that I hope will be with me for life. The final piece of the puzzle came when I began nutritional cleansing and intermittent fasting.
I’m now healthier, fitter and stronger than I have ever been in my adult life. I’m the weight I was when I was 20, and so far I’m maintaining it. I have energy to spare at the end of the day, and my brain fog has gone. I had no idea the body was designed to feel this good – I can’t believe this is what I’ve been missing all these years! And an interesting thing happens when you feel good. You open yourself up to dreams and passions and possibilities again. Life becomes interesting and exciting once more.
There is so much that excites me these days. Being a confident, fit, fun and happy mum to three growing boys totally excites me. New people and new places excite me. Hitting the beach, seeing the sunrise, dancing, working out, getting dressed up for a night out, cocktails, wearing a size 8 all excite me. And champagne. Yes champagne still really excites me. And the thing that excites me the most, the thing that really lights me up inside, is the opportunity to inspire, encourage and support other mums who have lost their inner sparkle, to become the happiest, healthiest, hottest version of themselves.
